Comparison · Wix
We have nothing against Wix in the abstract. It’s a fine platform for hobby sites, side projects, and brand-new businesses that aren’t yet sure what they’re selling. The model breaks down at the revenue threshold where the site is supposed to be the asset doing the work — usually around the time annual revenue clears $1 million and the platform’s speed, ownership, and system limitations stop being academic.
What changes when you switch
Ship a fast mobile site.
The Wix editor framework is required at runtime to make the drag-and-drop work. That framework is the speed ceiling — not a tuning problem.
Export a Wix site.
Wix doesn’t allow site export. Migrations are content reconstructions, not file transfers. The platform is the building.
Replace the apps with one wired system.
Bookings, Forms, Ascend, Visitor Analytics, Wix Inbox — each is a separate subscription. None of them know about the others. You’re the integration.
Stand behind the work.
No DIY platform offers a written client guarantee. We do — the on page 1 of every proposal. Defects against the signed spec fixed free for the whole twelve months, $150 a day credited against your monthly if we ship late, capped at $1,500, every asset yours on Day 1, on a 12-month commitment. We don’t promise revenue — nobody can underwrite that honestly.

If your business is genuinely a single-page brochure and revenue is under $1 million a year, Wix is the right call. The comparison matters at the stage where the platform’s defaults start costing you actual customers.
Deep dive 01
Wix’s editor framework ships with every page. It has to — that’s how the drag-and-drop renders, how the apps load, how the responsive resize works. That framework runs before your content, and the size of it is the reason Wix mobile PageSpeed scores cluster in the 30s–50s even on the paid tiers and even with image optimization enabled.
We don’t ship a runtime. We ship the page. A typical NovraScale build clears 90 on Google’s mobile PageSpeed scoring; the median Wix Pro homepage we audit lands in the 40s. Google’s research benchmarks a 24% bounce-rate reduction moving from poor to good LCP — and bounce-rate gains compound through the rest of the SEO ranking signals.
The math at 1,000 monthly visitors
Going from a 4.8s LCP to a 1.6s LCP recovers an estimated 160–220 sessions per month that were bouncing before they ever saw your offer.
We use Google’s own 24% bounce-rate-reduction benchmark as the conservative floor when we run ROI math on a pre-build call.
Deep dive 02
Wix’s TOS makes the model explicit: you license your use of the platform, and Wix owns the platform. The most consequential downstream of that — Wix does not allow site export. There is no migration path off the platform that preserves the actual site. Re-platforming requires rebuilding.
When we ship a NovraScale build, you own the domain (registered to you), the GitHub repo (owner: you), the Cloudflare account (billed to you), the GA4 property, the CRM, and every other account in the stack. The day you don’t want us running it, the system is still yours.

Deep dive 03
Wix’s growth model relies on apps. Every system a growing business needs — bookings, forms, email, SEO, analytics — is a separately-billed Wix app or third-party add-on. Each one looks small on its own. Twelve months in, the total is consistently more than the headline platform plan, and still doesn’t add up to a wired system.
One NovraScale management fee replaces the entire stack: the site, the missed-call text-back, the GBP, the review pipeline, the CRM, the SEO, the support. Engineered together, billed together.
The typical Wix monthly stack
Headline Wix plan is the smallest line on the invoice once the business actually grows.
What a client said
“NovraScale made my new website, improved my SEO, and setup my Google Business Profile, and it all came together seamlessly. I was completely hands off. I’ve seen a significant increase in new patients finding me online. If you’re a small business owner on the fence about investing in your digital presence, this is who you call.”
Moving over
01
Audit the Wix site.
Free Report Card scans the current site for speed, SEO, and trust issues. Two minutes, no call required.
02
Reconstruct, don't export.
Because Wix doesn't export, we rebuild rather than migrate. Content, structure, and SEO equity are preserved by hand. Plan locked on the strategy call.
03
Run in parallel.
Your Wix site stays live until cutover. The Quick-Win Sprint wires the missed-call text-back, GBP, and review automation in the first 7 days.
04
Cut over, retire the apps.
DNS points to the new site. Wix plan and all the supporting app subscriptions get canceled. Monthly management replaces the stack.
Common objections
Looking great isn't the same as earning customers. The Report Card is free and it'll tell you flatly whether your site is losing customers to speed, search visibility, or off-hours leads. If it isn't, we'll tell you to stay. Most of the time, the problem isn't visible to the owner — it's visible in the analytics.
Not if it's done right. We preserve the URL structure that's already ranking, set up 301 redirects on every URL that changes, port your content, and submit a new sitemap on launch day. The rankings you already have carry over, and a faster site is easier for Google to crawl and index.
Yes. The Forge Method ships with an editor for the pages and copy that change — services, locations, blog posts. The structural code stays under version control. You get the canvas without inheriting the maintenance burden.
Up front, yes. Monthly, usually less. A growing business on Wix typically runs the platform plan, a premium template, 3–5 apps, and an external SEO contractor. One NovraScale management fee replaces the stack. We run the live math on the strategy call.
